Take The Real Thing
Dating from late 1991 or 1992, this acoustic track was recorded at the Cwmaman Hut. With a bit of a Nirvana vibe to it, and what is particularly unusual is that it has a political bite which isn’t something Kelly is particularly known for. Of the handful of political songs that Kelly has written, the best known is the also unreleased Better Than A Cure. It’s a very simple song with Kelly playing a very simple yet effective chord structure and (presumably) Stuart adding to the beat with a tambourine. It sounds like there is no involvement from Rich or Simon on this track.
