Something In The Way
You wouldn’t normally cite Nirvana as an influence on the band’s music, which makes this cover all the more unusual. Released as a B-side to Pick A Part That’s New (CD2, track 3), this is a stripped down song featuring Kelly, his guitar and a tambourine. You can hear that Kelly is really trying to understand where Kurt Cobain was coming from in the way he sings this. It’s a remarkable performance, and the chorus is spine-tingling. Has to be heard.
