My own favourite ‘Phonics song. Track eight of You Gotta Go There To Come Back is one of the most intriguing Stereophonics tracks ever. Featuring an electronically produced drum loop, Kelly has said that the style of it is influenced by Massive Attack and Groove Armada. With possibly the worst four opening lines of any Stereophonics song, this remains a real grower. The track really builds nicely, but just at the point it reaches it’s maximum impact it ends. It’s a really interesting and brave track to put on the album, and the album benefits greatly from it being there.
