07/11/08 - New Blog from Rich
I've got to ramble now to fill the space as again it's been a quiet week apart from Kel doing Strictly and a charity event we went to on Monday. Kel said Strictly Come Dancing went well but he preferred the rehearsal run to the recorded run but thats how it goes sometimes. And the charity event was on Monday which was The Music Industry Trust awards which went to the Head of Universal Music who oversees everything by everyone! I won't carry on about the details just the guests who were there. We just thought it was going to be a small affair, but when we were inside it was a different story. Razorlight, Snowpatrol, Take That, Mika and Jamie Culum performed and U2, Tony Christie, Sugarbabes, Girls Aloud, The Feeling, The Fratellis, Benny & Bjorn from Abba and Texas were all guests which made for an interesting evening! Bono jumped on Kelly's lap for a chat, we had a introduction to Take That from Mark Owen who we've bumped into over the years. After that we did a day of rehearsals to oil the cogs ready for the show we've got in Ireland tonight. Looking forward to getting back into the gigs. Even though we only finished touring about a month ago it feels like ages since we've done anything...
Enough rambling, questions now. Enjoy!

If you could be somebody else for a day, who would it be?
I would love to be a MotoGP rider for a day. To ride the fastest bikes in the world and not worry about the price tag if you crash.
Are you guys looking forward to the Mencap gig on the 10th Nov? What songs have you got lined up for us?
We look forward to every gig, and it is great to lend a hand to charities by doing a gig for them. We are just figuring out how to do it, either fully live or acoustic or somewhere in between. And then after we decide how it's done we will figure out which tunes to play.
What's your favourite TV show?
Favourite tv show currently... Dexter. Of all time... Six Million Dollar Man.
If you could be a time machine which era would you forward or rewind to?
I would go back to the 60s/70s just to experience the best music being made there and then.
Why do you need a set list? If you can remember the chords, tabs, notes, lyrics, ... why do you still need a paper with +/- 20 words on it?
We need the set list so we all know (crew included) which song is coming next. Simple as that. If we didn't we'd be waiting on someone to shout out what's coming next and I'm sure that would play on peoples nerves after about 2 songs....
And today's bonus question....!
To Rich: if you're son is 15 and he wants to have a tattoo... What are you gonna say?
Wait until you're 18 and you can do what you like then !
