Kelly Jones – Only The Names Have Been Changed

Released: January 29, 2007

In January 2007, during a blog on Stereophonics.com, Kelly announced that inbetween takes on the Pull The Pin album that he'd been recording songs that he had lying around.

The album was written, recorded and mastered in a few days and released just a few short weeks later. Very impromtu and off the cuff. He said it was nice not to worry about the reviews, record company feedback and chart positions and just release it for the sake of music.

The album features ten stories about ten girls, and in the case of real stories only the names have been changed.

There are some fantastic songs on here that shouldn't go unntoiced. Most notably the opening track Suzy. But I could say that about every track. Jayne, which a live recording of the band playing it can be found on Live From Dakota which was released the year before is on the album, but a very slow and stripped down version of the one we originally know. Kelly went on a solo tour of UK & Ireland promoting the album in March/April 2007.

You can still download it on iTunes or get the hard copy on Amazon at the links on the side which features a DVD featuring videos of studio recordings of five of the tracks. A must have for Stereophonics fans.
