Oxegen Review: Stereophonics

The Stereophonics helped everybody forget the awful – but now sadly accepted – Oxegen weather with a repetitive rendition of the chorus ‘Have A Nice Day’.

We joined in revellers half-way through the Welsh rockers set in dancing around whilst belting out the lyrics in a mud-sodden patch just in front of the Main Stage.  Let’s go on record and say rain is a good thing for Oxegen.

But the band amazed start-to-finish and we’re now finding it extremely difficult to have any sort of criticism of any part of our day.  The ‘phonics hit the right note with the crowd with every track.  From major hits such as ‘Have A Nice Day’, earlier lesser known tracks such as ‘A Thousand Trees’ to more recent songs like ‘Daisy Lane’ – they blew everyone away.

It was just like an old-fashioned sing-along gig – only it wasn’t very intimate.  There were 25,000 people taking mud baths whilst singing.  Anyway – just another gig at Oxegen.  Welcome back to our hearts Stereophonics. An unforgettable gig!
